2009 Success Super Starter Tip - Working With Teams Successfully
Filed Under (Tips, Traffic Building) by Traffic Guru on 22-10-2009
This time of year many people are talking and blogging about New Year’s resolutions. Also, topics like meditation, reflection, and looking back over the last year to evaluate your results are very common.
One of the biggest things I see is, “what do I want in 2009?”
Lots of people are talking about you being forward thinking, deciding what you want in 2009, setting deadlines for when you’ll achieve those goals, and getting a strategy in place for how you’re going to achieve them.
These are all very important points which do deserve your attention and energy but since they’ve been covered so heavily I’m going to do something different.
New Year’s resolutions are a funny exercise in folly and almost always lead you on a road to nowhere because over 97% of people never follow through on their resolutions.
Resolute is a powerful word which means you will do whatever it takes to achieve the thing you’re resolute about.
For most people a New Year’s resolution is simply a wish they have with no energy or resolve behind it for them to achieve it.
In looking back at my own year 2008, 1 of the biggest things I got in order were my mastermind groups, teams, and the people I’m working with.
I feel very confident that these connections, contacts, and partners are going to be the instrumental thing which puts me over the top in 2009 and gives me the prosperity I desire and deserve.
One of the biggest things about working with teams is finding a group of people with complementary skills to yours that you can work effectively with.
Having competent partners and “human leverage” to do things you’re not good at is one of the biggest secrets and what all the most wealthy people in the world (and throughout history) have done. No man is an island which is why the “if I want it done right I have to do it myself” crowd will always be poor or marginally successful at best.
Napoleon Hill highlights the importance of your team, aka human capital, in Think and Grow Rich. He studied the success of guys like Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan, Thomas Edison, and other super wealthy Robber Barons of the time.
If it was a good enough for them it’s good enough for you. Model what people who have the life you want are doing.
So find your team and get cracking. The New Year (and new you) rapidly approaches.
