Facebook Connect is now on techcrunch and was on Digg though it seems to be a false start. You can see the announcement article on the TechCrunch site.

It has already gotten 368 comments so the buzz is certainly starting.

Unfortunately, there are problems.

I just logged back in and noticed Digg is no longer showing the FB Connect widget. My contact Chris tells me Digg was down for 20 minutes due to the problems with the software. So they pulled it down to avoid further site outages.

They want it to go live and are almost certainly still working on getting the kinks worked out.

www.theinsider.com has had it up and working for awhile as has cnn.com.

So it is working on some sites…just not on the latest round of sites.

My belief is that they are rushing to the market attempting to beat Google Friend Connect.  After looking at what both of them do it seems Google Friend Connect is the way more powerful piece of software.

Maybe, integrating into a broad range of sites with vastly different coding structures is causing the FB guys problems.

They also had to deal with Facebook Being Declared A Phishing Site. Lots of happenings going on at FB. I’ll keep you posted.
